PopCap made Peggle and Bejewled, among other games. They’re casual game making extraordinaires. Their next game, due to release tomorrow for $10 (here), has me more excited than it should considering it’s nothing but a casual game (i.e. dumbed down) take on the tower defense genre. I knew the game was coming, but I didn’t bother really looking into it until I saw the following music video. It’s genius.
If that song doesn’t get stuck in your head, well, you aren’t human.
I also was able to make my own zombie using their Zombatar. The marketing for this game is simply hilarious. They sold me.
As far as the game is concerned, I played the timed demo and when the demo kicked me out I was itching for more. Oh PopCap, how you suck us in so easily. Damn you PopCap. Damn you.
I just had oatmeal for dinner. Not the prepackaged kind, but the standard, plain oats. I added cinnamon and a little sugar, then crushed up some almonds. It was delish. And I’m shocked. I always thought straight oats were gross when I was a kid. It’s amazing how things change.
If anyone has any ideas on some good oatmeal combos, I’m all in. I’m looking to put some apples in tomorrow.
Tonight is the Academy Awards. The Grammys were a couple weeks ago. Zzzzzzzzzz.
At least the Academy honors independent films, but otherwise does it matter which large, multinational conglomeration spent enough marketing money to get chosen for the big awards? Does it?
Well, not much has been going on, but plenty of time has gone by.
I’ve now started to work a part time job in addition to my life fulfilling full time job (which they just froze our pay, so no raises) as a Nutro Pet Nutrition Specialist. It’s actually a pretty cool part time job in which I wander around pet stores and talk people into buying Nutro dog or cat food. This is the number one advertisement, Nutro doesn’t do huge ad campaigns, but instead relies on word of mouth and us specialists converting people. I won’t go into any detail, but you really should be feeding your pets Nutro, even though it is a premium food, it’s still affordable. And there is a 100% moneyback guarantee that your pet will eat less, shed less and poop less with Nutro. It’s worth checking out. If you’re money conscious, the Max brand is the cheapest and will actually cost less than most brands you find in a grocery store. Trust me, try Nutro, I only took the job because I was converted a few years ago and it made a noticeable difference in Roxie’s coat. Oh, and the animals inhaled the food, so it was pretty obvious they liked it right off the bat.
“Vacation” was pretty sad actually, though it was nice to see family and all. I came back with my sister’s cold that I’m almost entirely over.
Other than that I’ve just been doing the same stuff, so not much to report.
A lot of people lately have been having a rough time . . . and I don’t mean just because of the economy. I put myself in that category on a number of levels, but nothing too terrible. Anyway, following a friend’s advice, for the past few months I’ve been surrounding myself with things that make me laugh or smile, which means I’ve been watching a lot of comedy shows. So far I’ve been through Arrested Development, Mr. Show and Curb Your Enthusiasm while (mostly) keeping up to date with 30 Rock and the Office . . . and you know what, it helps. (Oh, and I laughed through just about every second of Tropic Thunder. Robert Downey, Jr., an actor I use to despise but has really stepped it up as of late, really deserves an Oscar for his performance [edit: apparently he did get nominated]. Too funny.)
So, I give to you, dear reader (omg, I just wrote that), one more thing to laugh at in the hopes that it will brighten up your day a little.
